Deadline to act: 23:59 UTC, August 14, 2026

TL;DR

Hyperlane, the cross-chain protocol that powers OORT's bridge between Oort Mainnet, BNB Chain (BSC), and Ethereum, is sunsetting support. Once that happens, OORT can no longer move between Oort, BSC, and Ethereum through Hyperlane.

If you're holding OORT that was bridged out to BSC or Ethereum, you need to bridge it back to Oort Mainnet before 23:59 UTC on August 14, 2026. After that date, those tokens will be irretrievable — not burned or lost in value, but stuck on a route that no longer has anyone to carry messages across it.

If you hold OORT only on a centralized exchange, there is nothing for you to do. Exchanges listing OORT already settle on Oort Mainnet.

What's actually changing

Hyperlane operates through off-chain agents — relayers and validators — that watch for bridge transactions and deliver the corresponding message on the destination chain. Sunsetting the route means those agents will go offline for the Oort–BSC–Ethereum path. Without them, a bridge transaction has no way to complete: your tokens would leave the source chain but never arrive on the destination chain.

This is not a change to OORT's total supply or tokenomics. It's a change to the infrastructure that lets the token cross between chains. Oort Mainnet itself is not going anywhere.

How to bridge back to Oort Mainnet

Use the official bridge only: https://bridge.oortfoundation.org/

We will never DM you asking you to bridge, verify a wallet, or click a link. Always type the URL yourself or use a link from our verified channels, and double-check the domain before connecting a wallet. If you're ever unsure whether a link is legitimate, ask our community lead in Telegram before doing anything.

Steps:

  1. Go to https://bridge.oortfoundation.org/ and click Connect wallet.
  1. Under From, select the network you're bridging from (Ethereum or BNB Chain).
  2. Under To, confirm OORT (Oort Mainnet) is selected as the destination.
  3. Under Token, select OORT.
  4. Enter the amount you want to bridge, or click Max to bridge your full balance.
  5. Under Recipient address, confirm the address is your own wallet on Oort Mainnet — click Use own address if you're bridging to the same wallet, or paste your Oort Mainnet address carefully if not. Double-check this address; a bridge transaction to the wrong address can't be reversed.
  6. Make sure your wallet holds enough ETH (if bridging from Ethereum) or BNB (if bridging from BSC) to cover the network's gas fee, the bridge itself doesn't cover gas.
  7. Click Continue and approve the transaction in your wallet.
  8. Wait for the transaction to confirm on the source chain, then for the corresponding message to be relayed. Your OORT will then show up in your wallet on Oort Mainnet.

Note for developers

Hyperlane is a permissionless protocol. If you've independently deployed your own warp routes for OORT, we don't own or control those contracts, and this sunset doesn't remove them. But it's worth knowing that Hyperlane's relayer and validator agents supporting the Oort route are going offline, which will affect any warp route relying on them, plan accordingly.

FAQ

Does this affect OORT's total supply? No. This is a change to bridge infrastructure only - it doesn't burn, mint, or lock any supply. Tokenomics are unaffected.

I hold OORT on an exchange. Do I need to do anything? No. Every exchange listing OORT has deployed on Oort Mainnet since listing, so your balance there is already on the right chain.

Which exchanges support OORT Mainnet? All exchanges currently listing OORT. You can find the full, up-to-date list at linktr.ee/oortfoundation.

What happens if I miss the deadline? Once Hyperlane's relayer and validator agents for this route go offline, there's no way to complete a bridge transaction on it. Tokens left on BSC or Ethereum past the deadline will be irretrievable. There is no extension or grace period being planned, so please don't wait until the last day.

I have OORT in a liquidity pool or staking contract — what do I do first? Withdraw or unstake your OORT from that position so it's sitting freely in your wallet, then follow the bridging steps above. Some positions have an unbonding or cooldown period, so start this well before the deadline.

Is the official bridge safe to use? Yes — https://bridge.oortfoundation.org/ is the official bridge, built on Hyperlane's infrastructure and maintained by Oort. Just make sure you're on that exact domain before connecting your wallet, and treat any other "bridge now" link sent to you directly as suspicious.
