2,897,889.93 $OORT removed from circulation. Here's what that means.
The numbers are in for May 2026.
Under the Equilibrium Burn framework, 2,897,889.93 $OORT was burned this month through miner license activity. The Foundation matched every token, 1:1, from the dedicated 30,000,000 $OORT allocation.
This is the first monthly report since Equilibrium went live. May is proof the mechanism works.
This is not the quarterly buyback and burn in which when revenue comes in, the Foundation buys $OORT from the open market, tokens go to a burn address. Predictable, centralized, disconnected from how fast the network was actually growing.
Equilibrium Burn is a different mechanism in one important way: the Foundation no longer sets the burn rate. The network does.
Here's how it works:
More devices online means more licenses. More licenses means more burn on both sides. The deflation rate scales directly with network activity.
The 30M allocation doesn't burn on a schedule. It only burns when miners do. There's no way to claim the supply reduction without the network producing it first.

We'll publish a burn update every month. As the 30M allocation is drawn down, the community and Foundation will evaluate impact and draft a Phase 2 proposal based on where the network is at that point.
For now: the mechanism is live, the numbers are real, and May showed it works.
Stay focused.
